El domingo 14 de Julio, luego de una campaña excepcional
en la que lideró las tres fases del campeonato colombiano,
el Deportivo Cali festejó su sexto título de campeón
de Primera División. El conjunto albiverde donde brillara
el recordado Willington Ortíz era un gigante dormido. Pero
como todos los grandes, logró despertar y de esa forma
obtuvo su pasaje a la Copa Libertadores, de la que se supo ser
vicecampeón en 1978, cuando lo dirigía el doctor
Carlos Bilardo.
Last Sunday, July 14, after a spectacular campaign in which, Deportivo
Cali was topmost in the three stages or the Colombian Championship,
it celebrated its sixth title as First Division Champion. The
White-and-green squad, in which the unforgettable Willington Ortiz
had dazzled his fans, was a dormant giant. But, as it is the case
with all aces, it knew how to waken up and thus get its pass to
the Libertadores Cup, of which it had been the runner-up in 1978,
under Dr. Carlos Bilardo's coaching.
