La organización del próximo Torneo Preolímpico
del año 2000 fue concedida por la CONMEBOL a la Confederación
Brasileña de Fútbol. Será clasificatoria
para los Juegos Olímpicos de Sidney del mismo año.
A su vez, en la Argentina se disputará el Campeonato Juventud
de América Sub-20 de 1999, y en Uruguay el Sudamericano
Sub-17 de ese año. En tanto la Liga Paraguaya, organizadora
del Sudamericano Sub-17 de 1997 clasificatorio para el Mundial
de Egipto, informó que el torneo se jugará en la
segunda quincena de Marzo.
The organization of the next Preolympic Tournament of the year
2000 has been assigned by CONMEBOL to the Brazilian Football Confederation.
The teams will quality for Sydney's Olympic Games of the same
year. The U-20 America's Youth Championship will be disputed in
Argentina, in 1999, and the U-17 South American, in Uruguay, of
the same year. Meanwhile, the Paraguayan League in charge of the
organization of the 1997 U-17 South American, where qualification
for Egypt's World Cup will take place, has informed that the tournament
has been scheduled for the second fortnight in March.
